Founded in 1929, Bove Jewelers is the premier jewelry store in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Located in Kennett Square, Bove offers small town charm with modern, state of the art service and selection. We carry designer and custom jewelry, platinum, gold, specialty items adorned with diamonds, pearls and gemstones, and also a wide variety of superior watches and giftware. 

Owner, Bob Strehlau purchased the business in 2016 after managing it for the 15 years prior. He has had great success with improving customer service and the quality of the product. 

The Strehlau family has a long history in the jewelry business, dating back to 1879. His family owned stores in Cape May, N.J., and Aston, Pa. His grandfather, Charles Holland, was a watchmaker and diamond setter who helped introduce his grandson to the business. Strehlau was working primarily as a goldsmith and as a diamond setter.

    Our services encompass a broad spectrum, ranging from replacing batteries to repairing the intricate movements of watches. Our experienced watchmaker has over four decades of expertise in the field and can assist with all your watch-related requirements.

  • Do you clean jewelry?

    We certainly do. Our cleaning services are entirely complimentary, so feel free to bring in your items anytime to get them shining like new.

  • Do I need an appointment for your services?

    No appointment is needed; we are always available to assist you. However, if you have a large number of items to sell or would like us to evaluate them, it may be beneficial to give us a call in advance.

  • Do you offer appraisals?

    Indeed, our in-house graduate gemologist possesses an impressive 40-year tenure with Bove and is capable of addressing all your appraisal requirements, from estate evaluations to insurance appraisals.

  • Do you sell Lab diamonds?

    Yes, we do. Lab-grown diamonds are becoming increasingly popular, not only for their ethical sourcing but also for their more budget-friendly options for customers.

  • How long are repair times?

    Our repair times may vary depending on the complexity of the item; however, standard repairs usually take about two weeks.
